Dear Mr. Paxson,

On behalf of our Mentor Connection group, we thank you for the outstanding presentation. Our Mentor Connection group appreciates your generosity in sharing your time and expertise.

Enthusiastic student responses verify the importance of your presentation.

Mr. Paxson's topic was an eye-opener. This was really interesting.

I would like to thank you for coming to talk about world population. I have some background knowledge about this subject and I will continue to look into this. Once people accept that it is a problem, then we can really start saving our world.

Thank you for coming to speak to us! I never knew how serious this problem was. The information you have shared with us will definitely affect my family planning.

You have brought a mega issue to our attention. From this side of the world, we do not fully understand the extremity of the population crisis. Thanks for educating us more, so now we will pass this on.

Wow! Your presentation was wonderful! I've always wondered about world population and how it was increasing and expanding. I'm worried about population growth and always have been -- your presentation gave me a lot of information and I am happily on your mailing list.

Thank you for opening my eyes to the issue of world population.

This was a topic (world population) which I would not have studied or researched, had you not spoken about it. Thank you for expanding my science-related knowledge.

Amazing information.

Amazing! Thank you for all of your work, it's so important, and so worthwhile.

This topic is something I've thought about before, but not intensely. My area of interest is humanitarian aid, and this is a new aspect of that I'm excited to explore!

This presentation was incredibly fascinating. The information and figures you told us were absolutely mind boggling. I couldn't believe what the figures for the net gain in the world population is. You really inspired me to do my part to help alleviate the problem.

The first video is amazing -- where are we going to put all those people? I had never considered how rapid population growth would endanger our world in the near future. It was definitely beneficial to hear from such an informed source.

The video was amazing -- I am in a history class right now and it was very cool to see how the population changed during the times we're studying. Thank you so much for speaking to us and also from your noble work of raising awareness about this issue.

It is amazing that such a subject is not introduced until the age of high school and college. We are the people who have the power to do, and advocate. But everyone should be aware. (Worldwide)

This is such an important issue that I can't thank you enough for coming today. Not enough people realize population growth is a problem. I also really enjoyed the way you presented your information; it was clear and informative.

Thank you for talking to us about the mega issue of world population. I know that population was increasing rapidly, but perhaps was not aware of the huge exponential surge. It is indeed tragic and hard to see a solution. I learned the term "ecological footprint," which really makes the scarcity of resources evident.

Mr. Paxson's speech was frightening -- awakening -- but frightening. It is always so disconcerting to hear the truth of our world ... to hear that 1/2 billion people on this earth are without adequate water, and that nearly all resources are being depleted ... and that catastrophe may be inevitable if people do not realize the seriousness of the problem is really unbelievable. "We have got to stop our population growth, or our resources will be completely gone."

The video on Minnesota was a real eye opener to me and has inspired me to think about what needs to be done in our world today.

What a great topic! I had no idea how vast the repercussions of overpopulation can be. Thank you, on behalf of all of us, for trying to educate our generation about what we can do to help secure our own future and the futures of our children.

A meaningful and useful presentation that introduces the world's greatest problem as a mega problem.

The development of tomorrow's leaders depends on the contributions of caring and accomplished adults. Because we believe that your colleagues and friends should be aware of your generous community service in the development of tomorrow's leaders, we enclose a Certificate of Recognition.

In the summer we will be contacting you about participating in the 2003-04 Mentor Connection Seminar Speaker Series. We hope that you will be available.

With deep respect and appreciation, we thank you for sharing your passion, providing a challenge, and thereby touching the future.

Sincerely,

Mentor Connection Coordinators
